Este gran guitarrista es un punto a parte, desgraciadamente murió hace un tiempo. Pero el legado que ha dejado es impresionante para comenzar, ha tocado con los mejores grupos y a sido un "Icono" de todos
los grandes guitarristas, y por supuesto de personas como nosotros, que la mayoría no sabemos tocar la guitarra pero entendemos perfectamente sobre música… Lo vi una vez en Londres y me quedé impactado por su gran pasión en interpretar con su guitarra y su gran versatilidad, os dejo una prueba ( SOLO DUBLIN 2007),
la filmacion fue grabada con un móvil, pero el momento fue apoteósico como podréis comprobar.... Brutal!
GARY MOORE....Del Hard Rock al Blues...
Quien no ha esuchado Still Got the BLues alguna vez en vida por muy corta que esta sea?... En lo personal uno de mis primeros discos resultaron ser el disco homonimo y AFter Hours, tremendos temas...algunos mas bluseros que otros, pero todos de muy buena calidad interpretativa.
Veamos algo de la historia de este grande de las 6 cuerdas....
Nacido 4 de abril de 1952, Gary Moore, como mínimo, pasará a la historia por ser uno de los mejores guitarristas de hard rock del mundo debido a su paso por Thin Lizzy.
Después de tocar con un grupo llamado The Boys, Moore decide formar una nueva banda, Skid Row, junto al bajista Brendan Shields, el baterista Noel Bridgeman, y el cantante Phil Lynott, el cual formaría Thin Lizzy mientras que Moore grababa un disco junto al guitarrista de los Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green.
Skid Row grabó tres álbumes en su historia antes de que Moore comenzara su carrera en solitario. El primero de ellos sería “Grinding Stone”, de 1973. Lynott por aquel entonces ya había invitado a Moore a tomar parte en el proyecto Thin Lizzy como reemplazo de Eric Bell; Moore pasó a formar parte del grupo durante un corto periodo de tiempo, el suficiente como para realizar su proyecto personal. En 1975 se crea Colosseum II, a la vez que Gary se reengancha a Thin Lizzy pero como miembro de pleno, el primer álbum que graba como tal es “Black Rose” de 1979. A mediados de ese mismo año Durante la gira americana. Moore deja Thin Lizzy para formar G-Force; su single "Parisienne Walkways" del Lp “Back on the Streets”, llegaría a ser top ten de la listas U.K.
Moore graba una serie de álbumes tranquilos, más pop, durante los 80´ consiguiendo uan gran popularidad en U.K. con "Empty Rooms" en 1985 y colabora con Lynot en "Out in the Fields".
En 1989 “After the War” demuestra la influencia celta innata en Moore pero su retorno a las listas de éxito vino de la mano de “Still Got the Blues”. Dejando aparcado el hard rock del que Moore había hacho gala, su vuelve más intimista y comienza su paso por los sonidos tradicionales del blues, dándoles un tono más instrumental y con grandes arreglos vocales. La mayor sorpresa de Moore llegaría con “After Hours”, en el cual tendría la colaboración de B.B. King y Albert Collins, solidificando así la reputación de gran bluesman de Moore.
